Facebook’s Ad Practices Draw Class Action on Behalf of Calif. Minors

A class action has been filed against Facebook alleging that the social networking site illegally uses the names and likenesses of minors in California for advertising and other commercial purposes. The suit demands unspecified actual and compensatory damages plus disgorgement of profits on behalf of an estimated 1 million or more California residents aged 14 to 18 who were members of Facebook during the past three years and whose names or likenesses Facebook used for advertising or other commercial purpose.
